Marcus Statius Priscus

Governor of Britannia from 161 to 162AD

Marcus Priscus was governor of Armenia during the last few years of Antoninus Pius’ reign (Cassius Dio LXXI.iii), and soon after the venerable emperor died in March 161, Priscus was removed to Britain by his successor the philosopher-emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Longinus – Epigraphic Evidence

This governor is not mentioned on any inscribed stones in Britain, so his administration of the province is thought to have been of brief duration; he was known as a man of honour and distinction at Rome.
