Marching or Temporary Camps
This camp lies some 4 miles (6.5 km) south-east of the Severan fortress and camps at Carpow on the south bank of the Tay, but is probably not associated with them. There is another marching-camp 7 miles (c.11 km) to the east at Edenwood and one more overlooking St. Andrew’s bay at Bonnytown another 11 miles (c.18 km) further east, both of which very-likely belong to the same campaigns through East Fife, possibly during the term of governor Julius Agricola (c.77-83AD).
