Shepton Mallet
Pottery and Settlement
The settlement lies about 2 miles south-west of the junction of the Charterhouse to Old Sarum road with the Fosse Way (ST6446). Six pottery kilns have been unearthed at a point about one mile west of the road settlement. Other substantial Roman buildings lie nearby at Charlton (ST6243).
