Wiveliscombe
Auxiliary Fort
A small Roman fort at Nunnington Park of rectangular plan with rounded corners is visible as an earthwork. Its ditch has been identified as a cropmark on aerial photographs. Finds from the site include some Roman pottery of a probable mid 1st century date and some earlier worked flints. All the finds have been deposited with Taunton Museum.
