Snettisham
Probable Settlement and Villa
Situated on the eastern shores of the Metaris Aestuarium (The Wash). The find-place of a late iron-age gold torc of marvellous craftsmanship. The road south is strewn with villas; at West Newton (TF7027) with substantial buildings nearby at Flitcham (TF7127); Grimston (TF7121) and Gayton Thorpe (TF7318).
