Marching or Temporary Camp
Chapel Rigg Temporary Marching Camp is a small camp lies on the summit of a small ridge overlooking a tributary stream of the Tipalt Brook from the north. The camp is rectangular with four gates set centrally in each of its sides. The gates are unusual in that all are protected by both external titulum and internal clavicula earthworks. The defences are very well preserved.
