Bishop Barnet's Wood Camp
Iron Age Hillfort
Bishop Barnet’s Wood Camp consists of the remains of an earthwork enclosure, the exact date and purpose of which are unknown, but it is believed to be from the later prehistoric period. The enclosure has a roughly circular shape, measuring approximately 50m in diameter, and is enclosed by two low banks with a ditch that is 1.5m wide between them. The inner bank stands at a height of 0.7m, while the outer bank ranges from 0.5m to 1m in height. There are gaps in the defences on the eastern and southern sides, which could potentially be original entrances. The interior of the enclosure does not contain any significant features.
