Holme Marching Camp

Marching or Temporary Camp

Holme Marching Camp lies some 1½ miles (2.5km) west-north-west of the Brough Roman settlement. Only the north side is completely known, with about 650 feet (c.200m) of the west side and 720 feet (c.220m) of the east. The area given above is for the part of the camp which lies to the north of the modern road. It seems likely that the camp did not extend too far to the south of the road.
