A large pottery workshop was uncovered during excavations in 1973 which comprised a timber building and ten kilns, seven of which were boat-shaped, around 10 feet (3.1m) in length with furnaces at each end 2¼ feet (0.7m) in diameter. The potteries here produced mainly grey wares during the 3rd and 4th centuries.
